005: Fiery Misfortune

Sometimes, I believe that the drama around the Fudomine area never ends. I thought it was only eventful in middle school because we were angst-filled teenagers trying to sort out hormones and competitive spirits. Not because this area was filled with it. There was a fire in the mobile-repair shop, close to the deli.
After evacuating the deli and making sure that all of the gas/oil sections were turned off/emptied, I went to go see if they needed any help. A little boy and his dog had been stuck in the upstairs floor of the mobile-phone repairing shop. My fire-extinguisher came in handy today.
Usually, you'd leave this sort of thing up to the many fire-engines, but only one comes out to Fudomine nowadays, simply because of all the drug-addicts around this area and the propensity they have for burning down things. And the actual firefighters were too busy trying to stop the spreading of the flames to other stores.
So it was me that climbed the ladder and rescued them. They weren't burnt or hurt, luckily, but they inhaled a lot of smoke, so the boy's in hospital now. I don't know what happened to the dog. The fire didn't spread past the the mobile shop and the two shops around it, so my deli's safe, but we're all waiting for the police to say whether it was an accident or arson. I do hope it was an accident, but you can never tell.
